Elisabeth just read Chapter V of Mr. Popper's Penguins. Rich promised to take her to the office with him tomorrow morning if she read an entire chapter. She did it! She is so excited! We're planning to pack a lot of books for her to read while in Brussels.
Yesterday, we went swimming at Poplar Heights. Elisabeth went off the diving board anddown the tunnel slide for the first time. She had such a great time going off the boards and slide with her Dad and Michael. Elisabeth even did a cannonball! What a splash!
We are busy packing for Brussels. We asked the girls to pack two toys or games in the family room. The entire train table is covered with toys and games. The pile is three times the size of the box. Somehow we need to manage our packing. But how? I can't imagine life without a kids size kitchen, cash register, and doll house. In some way they are my toys too!
We also packed a box of books and Elisabeth's room. We told the girls to pack 10 books each. When I checked the box afterwards none of the French books Santa brought made it into the box. I snuck them into the box (Rich and I each can pick 10 books too.) Let's hope French becomes more of a front seat in Brussels.
We also asked Elisabeth to pack a box for her room. It is a dumping ground for anything and everything: pencil boxes, music boxes, piggy banks, American Girl doll (bed and outfits too!), etc. While she is at her grandparents this week I will repack it and purge. Too much stuff!
Kate is three and a half and still potty training. Maybe one accident every couple of days. The other day I checked on her in the half bath and somehow she managed to poop all over the wall in the bathroom. Our green powder room had turned chocolate brown. The silver lining was that her bottom was clean when I tried to wipe her. I suppose it was an explosive poop.
